GWC Helpdesk
Contact GWCBassine Niang, Information Management Officer seconded to GWC by IMMAP in June 2023. I previously worked in the private sector within DHL as an IT business service support manager for West and Central Africa. Then I joined OCHA ROWCA in Senegal for 6 years as an information management officer, specifically as Data manager working closely with partners (UN, NSOs, government, specialized actors) in the region for the centralization of humanitarian data to produce humanitarian documents (HNO/HRP/…). While with the regional office, I took part in support missions as part of capacity building in IM in West and Central African in ROWCA coverage. I after joined UNICEF Mali as an information management specialist in 2019 working more specifically on the EU PAIS project (a mobile data collection survey and monitoring of OOSC). As UNICEF leading the project, I closely work with involved partners (WFP for school canteen, implementing partners as IRC and NNGOs for monitoring of activities and the Ministry of Education to support them on capacity building). And after I respectively joined IFRC within the RCCE project as IM specialist covering the two region of Africa and OHCHR regional office for West and Central Africa in the Emergency Response Team. I enlarged my knowledge in management of qualitative data within these two latest organizations. And finally, as IMO, I worked in all aspects of data management and visualization. I hold an engineer master’s degree of conception in computer science from Dakar Polytechnic College and speak Wolof (mother tongue), French and English.
