Coaching and Mentoring

Coaching

The Global WASH Cluster (GWC) coaching programme works in complementarity with the other capacity-development and learning modalities, such as training courses and on-the-job training. Coaching can be requested or offered to any member of the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) coordination team in need of specific support on identified areas of improvement. Coaching can be related to soft skills or behavioural competencies such as development trust, reaching consensus, managing conflict, negotiation, and so on, as well as functional competencies.

The programme uses the GROW model (goals, reality, options, will) as a tool. The GWC will provide tailored coaching or identify suitable coaches for interested members of the WASH coordination team. Coaching can be offered to and requested by members of the WASH coordination team at the national or subnational level.

Interested candidates should contact the GWC by email at gwchelp@unicef.org to request inclusion to the coaching programme.

On-the-job training

The Global WASH Cluster (GWC) on-the-job training programme complements its other capacity-development and learning modalities, such as training courses and coaching. It targets primarily new Cluster Coordinators or Information Management Officers, and it can also be adapted to members of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) coordination teams dealing with complex situations.

Please contact the GWC by email at gwchelp@unicef.org to request inclusion to the on-the-job training.

Mentoring

Please contact the GWC by email at gwchelp@unicef.org to request inclusion for mentoring initiatives.
