GWC Monthly Newsletter - Fourth Edition 2023

Publication: 11 May 2023

Welcome to the fourth edition of the Global WASH Cluster Newsletter in 2023! In this update, we bring you a rich and diverse array of news from National Coordination Platforms (NCPs), GWC members, and partners such as WASH'em, IMC, Save the Children, CAWST, GTFCC, People in Need, and IASC.

Current emergencies in SudanHaiti, and Syria are currently mobilizing most of our operational support, on top of our 27th Annual Meeting which has just concluded in Budapest. This month also features the exciting launch of the SANIHUB bringing together all available knowledge on planning and implementing sanitation and fecal sludge management in emergencies on one single platform. This year, Menstrual Hygiene Day (28 May) focuses on "Making menstruation a normal fact of life by 2030". Let's join hands and work together to break taboos and end the stigma around menstruation. #MHDay2023 #WeAreCommitted 🩸. You can find all the information here.

Updates from the field and NCPs this month include the WASH Sector North East Nigeria - Response Dashboard 2023, which aims to inform the ongoing response, and the latest Sudan National WASH Sector Coordination Meeting Minutes (DRAFT). Have a read at the latest Ukraine WASH Cluster Alert Reports 2023 as well as the WASH Latin America and the Caribbean Monthly Update from April 2023.

We remind all that we value showcasing the incredible work NCPs and partners are doing around the world, so please send us your photos, stories, and other content to highlight the work of your team or draw attention to issues that matter to you. Read our submission guidelines here. All items can be sent directly for inclusion in the next newsletter by Wednesday 26 May 2023 to globalwashcluster@unicef.org.
