John Kanani joined for the second time the FST in December 2023 as FST- WASH Cluster Coordinator seconded by Oxfam.  His first mission with FST-GWC was in 2021 seconded by Oxfam  for one year on  the same role and was deployed in Guinee and Ethiopia (Tigre). Prior to this; John has worked with Oxfam for 26 years including 19 years overseas in different roles as country wash lead; wash coordinator; water and sanitation engineer team leader/officer in different countries: Burkinafasso; Central Africa republic; Yemen; DRCongo, Ethiopia; Guinea/Conakry, Burundi, south-Sudan, Haiti, Chad, Indonesia, Sudan, Ghana, Tanzania  and one year with UNHCR in south Sudan as WASH officer.

He holds a master’s degree in management of crisis and humanitarian actions, a degree in rural development and engineering, a diploma in chemistry.
